Emerald reports Impact Factor increase for journals -

Following the release of the Journal Citation Reports by Thomson Reuters in June, academic publisher Emerald, UK, has announced increased impact factors for 71 per cent of its titles currently indexed.

The report reflects outstanding performances for journals in the Operations and Logistics Management collection. International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management recorded the largest increase, jumping from 1.038 to 1.826, placing it in the top 30 of the Management category; The International Journal of Logistics Management increased significantly from 0.841 to 1.463; and Supply Chain Management consolidated its position further rising from 1.535 to 1.684.

With 65 percent of its titles ranked in ISI, the Engineering collection boasts a strong position in the company's portfolio. With an impact factor of 1.674, Industrial Management & Data System appeared in the top ten of the Engineering, Industrial, category.

In the fields of Library and Information Science, titles have also displayed strong results, with Internet Research increasing its score from 1.115 to 1.5 and appearing in the first quadrant of the Computer Science and Information Systems category; and Journal of Documentation seeing a rise from 1.058 to 1.138. Strengthening from 1.248 to 1.474, Journal of Knowledge Management continued to be the leading title in the field of Knowledge Management, and sitting in the top 20 in the Information Science & Library Science category.

Three journals received their first impact factors this year. International Journal of Climate Change Strategies and Management in the Environmental Management collection made a noticeable new entry with 0.824; along with International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education recording 0.426 in the Education collection; whereas Accounting, Auditing, and Accountability Journal, in the Accounting and Finance collection, leads new results with 0.835.

Other standout performances to highlight are Journal of Service Management, in the Industry and Public Sector collection, which rises from 1.218 to 1.864, and International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management ranked 11 in the Hospitality category with a score of 1.266.
