IPR License, the global rights and license specialist, has announced a partnership with academic publisher De Gruyter. With this announcement, De Gruyter breaks new ground as the first major publisher in Germany to become a key member of the partnership network.
With its headquarters in Berlin, and with offices also in Basel, Beijing, Boston and Munich, the De Gruyter group publishes over 1,300 new titles each year in the humanities, social sciences, STM and law, plus more than 750 subscription based or Open Access journals, and a variety of digital products. This new partnership is significant for IPR License as it further extends its market presence, and underlines the company's ability to attract high-profile publishers from the STM sector, both in the UK and abroad.
Last month Frankfurt Book Fair announced it had taken a majority shareholding in IPR License, with Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) keeping its minority stake.
