Scholarly publisher Koninklijke Brill N.V. has closed the acquisition of all shares of Editions Rodopi B.V., Amsterdam. The acquisition includes highly esteemed book series and journals in history, philosophy, theology, social sciences, linguistics, literature, and cultural studies. In total, the publishing list comprises 3,000 book titles, growing by 130 new titles each year, for the most part in the English language, but also in French, German and Spanish.
The annual turnover of the list is about € 1 million. The acquisition comes into effect retroactively on January 1, 2014 and Brill expects the takeover to have a positive effect on this year's earnings per share.
