STM publisher Elsevier will offer Elsevier's DirectCourse eLearning curricula to the more than 1,200 organizations in the ACCSES network that provide exceptional services to people with disabilities across the United States.
ACCSES is an elite network of more than 1,200 disability service providers promoting and enhancing community-based solutions that maximize employment and independent living opportunities for people with disabilities. ACCSES provides a voice for these individuals at the highest levels of government. Its advocacy efforts resonate throughout the halls of Congress, executive agencies, and the White House.
DirectCourse curricula are research driven, built around a nationally recognized set of competencies from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), are evidence-based and peer reviewed to ensure that support professionals can provide the best guidance in helping people with disabilities reach their full potential through self-determination.
DirectCourse, a collaboration between Elsevier and the University of Minnesota's Research and Training Center on Community Living and three other recognized research universities, is an online training curriculum designed to empower support and care professionals in helping persons with disabilities lead meaningful lives within their communities.
