Academic publisher Emerald Group Publishing has signed an agreement with the e-library of the Ministry of Health of the Sultanate of Oman, a unique service within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
This partnership has provided all Ministry of Health hospitals, health centers, nursing institutes and other health related institutions in Oman with access to articles that are included in the Emerald Health and Social Care eJournal collection.
The Emerald journals contained within this database cover some of the key questions facing healthcare professionals across the world; and have helped the Ministry of Health work towards several of its strategic objectives, such as the development of education and training in health, and emphasizing the importance of health systems research. The collection contains titles of which 94% are indexed by Scopus, and research covers various topics such as: intellectual/learning disabilities; mental health; criminology and forensic practice; working with vulnerable groups; and management of services.
The Ministry of Health is responsible for ensuring the availability of healthcare to the people of Oman and is currently working towards the national health policy, which contains a series of very clear goals to benefit the population of the Sultanate.
