Brill announces major improvements to distribution, fulfilment and supply chain management in the Americas -

Academic publisher Brill has announced major improvements to distribution, fulfilment and supply chain management in the Americas. As of January 1, 2016, Turpin Distribution, Brill's current distributor of journals and print books outside of the Americas, will be responsible for distribution, customer service and fulfilment worldwide. Also, Brill has signed up with Bookmasters to provide print-on-demand (POD) services for Brill in North America. Bookmasters will also be Turpin's warehousing partner in that region. Last but not least, Brill decided to participate in Baker & Taylor's Digital Print Solutions print-to-order (PTO) program, which also relies on the POD services of Bookmasters.

These major changes result in faster fulfilment times for orders placed in the Americas, via trade and library channels as well as via individuals, while offering greater efficiencies in print manufacturing and inventory management in response to changes in the demand for print books which will provide a streamlined approach to the distribution, customer service and fulfilment for books and journals.

Brill is now reaching out to customers to guide them through the transition. Customers may also visit brill.com/americas for more information, or contact sales-us@brill.com.
