Baker & Taylor, a worldwide distributor of digital and print books, and Simon & Schuster India have entered into a distribution agreement for Baker & Taylor's Global Publishers Services (GPS) effective May 1, 2017. Baker & Taylor's GPS specialises in supporting client publishers with international sales, marketing, and supply chain and digital-to-print services. Through its new agreement with Simon & Schuster India, GPS will be able to locally stock titles for optimal distribution into the marketplace, including for key online retailers.
GPS has agreements with brand name publishers that will resonate well in India, including Sourcebooks, recently named a top 10 publisher by Publishers Weekly and a leading publisher of children's, young adult and adult fiction, and Sounds True, a leading publisher of bestselling Buddhism and spirituality titles, including an audio library by Eckhart Tolle. These publisher relationships are complimented by category strengths such as children's, illustrated, music, and fiction.
Over the last several years, Simon & Schuster India has significantly grown its presence in the Indian marketplace. Earlier this year, it launched a new local publishing program to widespread acclaim and bestselling success.
