Agfa HealthCare integrates Thieme's medical knowledge platform eRef into hospital information system ORBIS -

Agfa HealthCare, a member of the Agfa-Gevaert Group, has announced the integration of Thieme's medical knowledge platform eRef into the hospital information system (KIS) ORBIS. Hereafter, clinics working with ORBIS and licensed by eRef will have direct access to the medical journals, databases and databases from the KIS, as well as a comprehensive picture archive, patient reconnaissance sheets, videos and other services from Georg Thieme Verlag. In this way, the relevant information is directly available to the physicians in various working situations.

ORBIS supports workflows in medicine, administration and management of healthcare facilities. The medical workflows in ORBIS optimise the interplay of medical areas with the general hospital procedures. The coordination of the requirements of doctors and nurses and the comprehensive integration of procedures in ORBIS results in a qualitative improvement of the patient care through the comprehensive availability of information. The ORBIS Info service offers direct access to individually licensed information packages from different providers.

The knowledge platform eRef offers physician quality-assured specialist information required in the specific case and integrates it precisely into the treatment process - whether in the consultation room, during the visit or in the operating room. Content is sorted by eRef thematically according to diagnoses and medical circumstances and summarized in so-called "cockpits". In this way, the user can find the relevant information, for example on meniscus injuries, at the click of a button - from anatomy, diagnostics, imaging and differential diagnoses, through conservative and operative therapies, complications and after-treatment to clarification sheets, guidelines and surgical videos.

With the connection to the ORBIS Info service, users now have the possibility to directly access eRef content directly from the hospital information system - whether in the planning of operations, the preparation of reconnaissance talks, the preparation of medication plans or the writing of doctor's letters.
