Two flagship EC initiatives, OpenAIRE-Advance and EOSC-hub, recently signed a collaboration agreement. The agreement solidifies the projects' ambition for Europe to become a global leader in digital and open science to ensure that scientists reap the full benefits of open data-driven science. Science requires a joint effort and new tools are needed to harness all the relevant information within the research process, while delivering easy ways to implement open science. Together, they will provide a set of services and resources that will become part of the EOSC (European Open Science Cloud).
OpenAIRE-Advance and EOSC-hub have a strong track record of developing and delivering services that make the life of a researcher easier. These include giving advice on how to create data to make it durable and discoverable, facilitate sharing research outputs, accessing domain-specific data storage and data-intensive computing. A joint activity plan is the key instrument in making this partnership a reality. It is built around three major pillars of activities - Service Integration, Communication, Engagement, Support and Training and Governance and Strategy.
This collaboration is expected to produce tangible results not only for researchers but also for a broad range of related communities - Research Infrastructures, decision makers and policy makers at national and European level, research administrators, service and content providers, citizens, Industry/SMEs.
