Open research publisher Springer Nature and the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR) have signed a major agreement that will benefit researchers, post docs and students based at Russian research institutions. As of July 2018, Russian institutions now have access to all Springer journals, Nature and all Nature-branded journals including new launches, and the Academic journals on nature.com. Palgrave Macmillan publications, Scientific American, as well as the databases SpringerMaterials and SpringerProtocols, and the mathematics abstracting and reviewing service zbMATH are also included in the deal.
Around 1600 organisations across Russia can now access Springer Nature content through this license and this is being communicated to researchers at these institutes in webinars, workshops, conference presentations and a specially dedicated landing page on the RFBR website.
