IOP Publishing has selected Figshare to openly store, share, and cite research outputs from across their portfolio of over 85 journals. These research outputs will be available in a fully-branded Portal at iop.figshare.com.
IOP Publishing and Figshare are both committed to making research more relevant, interactive and powerful for researchers and for the world. Through this new relationship, IOP Publishing will work with Figshare to enhance the utility of research data associated with articles on IOP’s publishing platform by giving researchers a rich, interactive experience that highlights the data on which each article has been built. Data stored on Figshare will also meet the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable), ensuring it’s fully discoverable and harvestable by Figshare’s robust API.
Bringing attention to research data increases the impact of associated published outputs and supplementary materials, critical in ensuring the translation of the leading research published with IOP Publishing. Items showcased on this portal will have views, downloads, citations, and Altmetrics tracked and will be marked for indexing in Google Scholar and Google Dataset Search.
