World Scientific Publishing and Dimensions have announced an agreement which will provide the global publisher with access to Dimensions data on the Dimensions Analytics web app and via Google BigQuery.
World Scientific will utilise the powerful analytical features to monitor trends in the research funding landscape, emerging fields of research and to help shape their publishing and business development strategies.
Dimensions is a comprehensive data infrastructure that covers the full research and innovation lifecycle, enabling publishers to delve into a breadth of data and metrics to perform invaluable analyses and translate them into usable business insights.
While covering over 122 million publications with 1.2 billion citations, Dimensions also contains over $2 trillion of funded grants, 665,000 clinical trials, 140 million patents, 450k policy documents and 11 million datasets linked and contextualised to create a deep understanding of the full research lifecycle.
Dimensions Analytics provides access to Dimensions’ complete, comprehensive, and connected data set and supports complex data analysis to meet the needs of staff at World Scientific.
Google BigQuery, Google Cloud’s serverless and secure multi-cloud data warehouse, enables World Scientific Publishing to leverage the full dataset available in Dimensions, combine the Dimensions data with their internal data sources and also offers connections to popular Business Intelligence and data visualization tools. This allows them to perform bespoke analyses and create custom dashboards and reports with a 360° view of the research landscape.
