Frontiers, a leading open-access publisher, has announced a significant national agreement with Slovenia through the CTK Consortium. This landmark deal establishes a publishing agreement between Frontiers and Slovenian universities represented in the CTK Consortium. The partnership provides partner institutions with benefits such as discounted article processing charges (APCs) and a simplified publishing process in Frontiers' journals. The agreement, signed in March 2023, will remain in effect until March 2026.
By joining forces with Frontiers, Slovenian universities demonstrate their dedication to advancing open access and fostering the dissemination of research findings.
Slovenia now joins a list of other prestigious international consortia that have signed open access framework agreements with Frontiers. These consortia include institutions from the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, and Norway. The partnership with Frontiers allows these institutions to access Frontiers' cutting-edge publishing models, facilitating a streamlined and financially sustainable publishing process.
By collaborating with Frontiers, member institutions gain access to a range of benefits. Researchers and their institutions benefit from tailored and flexible publishing models, including competitive APCs. The streamlined workflow, along with a dedicated dashboard, provides researchers with new insights and increased transparency throughout the publishing process. Additionally, Frontiers offers centralized and flexible invoicing, multiple payment options, and a dedicated account manager to support library staff.
Researchers also gain access to collaborative peer-review processes, comprehensive article and author impact metrics, and enhanced dissemination tools such as Loop. Frontiers' continuous registration policy, without an annual fee, ensures that partner institutions can continuously contribute to the development and improvement of the partnership models.
With this partnership, Frontiers aims to strengthen the open science movement and support the research community in Slovenia, fostering greater collaboration and knowledge dissemination in the country's academic landscape.
