Three RSC journals achieve prominence with impact factor and article influence score -

Three of the Royal Society of Chemistry's (RSC) Open Access journals have received their inaugural full set of impact metrics, underscoring their growing influence in the scientific community.

RSC Chemical Biology and Materials Advances earned this esteemed distinction just three years after their initial publication, while Environmental Science: Atmospheres reached this milestone within two years. All three journals embrace the gold open access model and are integral to the RSC's overarching commitment to achieve 100% open access by 2028.

The newly-released metrics, including the impact factor, article influence score, and immediacy index, were unveiled as part of the latest Journal Citation Report (JCR) for 2023, released by Clarivate, a leading analytics and subscription-based services company. These quantitative measures, along with qualitative assessments, are instrumental in gauging the impact of research published in these prestigious journals.

RSC Chemical Biology, boasting a journal impact factor of 4.1, an article influence score of 1.185, and an immediacy index of 0.6, has swiftly gained the support of the scientific community and garnered a reputation for publishing high-quality research.

Environmental Science: Atmospheres, with a journal impact factor of 3.4, an article influence score of 0.789, and an immediacy index of 0.7, has been lauded for its rapid publication process facilitated by the efficient and professional manuscript handling by the journal's international Associate Editors.

Meanwhile, Materials Advances, featuring a journal impact factor of 5.0, an article influence score of 0.849, and an immediacy index of 1.0, benefits from a wide pool of editors shared with the esteemed Journal of Materials Chemistry family. This collaboration ensures consistent and complementary decisions across the vast array of materials science journals in RSC's portfolio.

Beyond their individual accomplishments, these three publications collectively contribute to RSC's broader sustainability initiatives, addressing key aspects of the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals, including good health and wellbeing (Goal 3), affordable and clean energy (Goal 7), and climate action (Goal 13).

The success of these journals is a testament to the dedication and contributions of scientists worldwide.
