ResearchGate and Wiley expand Journal Home partnership to 700 journals -

In a significant development for the academic publishing landscape, ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, has announced the expansion of its Journal Home partnership with Wiley to include a staggering 700 journals.

This expanded collaboration encompasses nearly all open access journals published by Wiley, spanning prestigious society partners such as the American Geophysical Union (AGU) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), as well as a broader range of hybrid journals. Leveraging ResearchGate's innovative Journal Home offering, these journals will enjoy heightened visibility and discoverability among researchers.

The Journal Home initiative is designed to elevate the presence of journals on ResearchGate's platform, facilitating increased accessibility for researchers during the research process. Participating journals will feature all version-of-record content, including newly published articles and backfile content, accessible directly through ResearchGate. Dedicated journal profiles will be activated across the platform, ensuring prominent representation on associated article pages and other relevant touchpoints with members. Authors will also benefit from automatic inclusion of their articles on their ResearchGate user profiles, enabling them to track and analyze readership and engagement metrics.

Wiley, a longstanding partner in the Journal Home program, has witnessed tangible benefits from its collaboration with ResearchGate. In 2023 alone, the partnership facilitated access to over 560,000 articles from 519 journals, resulting in more than 25,000,000 article views globally, as reported through COUNTER-compliant metrics.

Feedback from Wiley authors underscores the positive impact of the partnership, with 98% expressing satisfaction with their research being featured on ResearchGate. Notably, the partnership has not only increased the visibility of participating journals but has also served as a catalyst for attracting new authors. In 2023, over 3,800 authors engaged with Journal Home, leading to the publication of over 4,000 articles across Wiley journals. Impressively, a significant portion of these authors were new to Wiley, demonstrating the partnership's ability to cultivate fresh engagement and foster author retention.

The expansion of the Journal Home partnership between ResearchGate and Wiley signals a pivotal advancement in the promotion of open access and collaborative research within the academic community.
