Canadian Science Publishing (CSP) has announced a strategic partnership with the Canadian Centre for Evidence-Informed Conservation (CCEIC), a distinguished organization based at Carleton University in Ottawa. The partnership marks an exciting step forward in advancing evidence-based approaches to conservation research and practice.
The CCEIC is renowned for producing evidence syntheses that provide a clear, repeatable methodology to inform conservation actions that are both scientifically sound and defensible. This collaboration will unite CCEIC with eight prominent CSP journals, including FACETS, Botany, Arctic Science, Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences, Canadian Journal of Zoology, Canadian Journal of Forest Research, Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, and Environmental Reviews. Together, these journals will highlight the important contributions made by CCEIC members, while also supporting the broader community of evidence generators, synthesizers, and users.
The partnership will serve as a platform for joint initiatives between CSP and CCEIC, designed to help train research communities and emphasize the significance of evidence syntheses in conservation decision-making. A series of webinars will be hosted as part of this collaboration, providing a space for knowledge exchange and discussing the methodologies that underpin effective conservation actions.
To mark the beginning of this partnership, CSP and CCEIC will host a launch webinar on April 7, 2025. This event will introduce the partnership's objectives and the resources available to the research community, providing an opportunity for attendees to learn about the importance of evidence synthesis in conservation.
Together, this partnership seeks to make a lasting impact on the future of conservation, empowering researchers and decision-makers with the tools they need to create meaningful change.
