Ex Libris expands AI-enhanced discovery with Summon Research Assistant -

Ex Libris, part of Clarivate, has launched Summon Research Assistant, bringing AI-enhanced discovery to Summon institutions worldwide. Following the success of Primo Research Assistant, this expansion provides researchers and librarians with a powerful tool to streamline the research process and improve access to trusted library resources.

Summon Research Assistant generates real-time, AI-enhanced summaries based on queries, citing the most relevant sources from the Central Discovery Index (CDI). By integrating natural language search capabilities, the tool helps researchers quickly identify key materials vetted by libraries and Ex Libris.

Users receive an instant, contextual overview of their topic, with cited references embedded in responses. From there, they can refine their search, explore additional results, or follow suggested research pathways. This approach enhances discovery while maintaining transparency and academic integrity.

With Summon Research Assistant, libraries can elevate their research support services, ensuring users have seamless access to authoritative information through an intuitive, AI-powered interface.
