Clarivate, a global leader in transformative intelligence, has entered into an agreement with the University of Melbourne, one of Australia’s leading universities, to deliver an integrated suite of library solutions and services. The solutions include Alma, Primo, Leganto, Rapido, and Library Open Workflows, covering functions such as library management, resource discovery, content sharing, and subject reading lists. The initiative aims to provide the University with a modernized, efficient, and user-focused platform for library operations.
Through this collaboration, users will gain access to resources via advanced discovery tools, while operations will be streamlined to support improved data-driven decision-making. By incorporating academic artificial intelligence and linked data, the new systems are expected to strengthen teaching and learning, advance research capabilities, and enrich the wider scholarly community’s engagement with library collections.
Clarivate emphasized that its association with the University of Melbourne extends over two decades, underscoring continuity in collaboration. The company noted that its solutions are designed to improve operational efficiency in academic libraries, enhance effectiveness, and deliver stronger user experiences for both students and faculty. It further highlighted its broader commitment to enabling institutions to connect with trusted content, expert knowledge, and responsible innovation.
The University of Melbourne’s Scholarly Services division stated that it manages one of the most diverse and significant collections of research resources in Australia. It emphasized that the adoption of Alma aligns the University with leading institutions worldwide, given the platform’s status as a flexible, integrated system already in use at more than 2,700 libraries globally.
