Wiley has renewed a multi-year publishing partnership with the British Educational Research Association (BERA) to continue publishing journals in educational research. The company confirmed a five-year agreement extending the collaboration through 2030 to publish journals focused on educational research and to support a community of more than 2,500 members.
Under the current partnership, the BERA journal portfolio has reported growth and scholarly impact, with three of its four journals—the British Educational Research Journal (BERJ), the British Journal of Educational Technology (BJET), and the Review of Education (RoE)—ranking in the top quartile in their respective fields based on Impact Factor. The Curriculum Journal has received its first Impact Factor of 1.7.
Martin Vinding, Senior Director, Partner Publishing, Wiley, indicated that the renewal continues efforts to create opportunities for emerging researchers and to support research that informs the future of education. Nick Johnson, Chief Executive, British Educational Research Association, emphasized that the collaboration has strengthened the journals’ reach and impact and that the continued partnership supports BERA’s goals of advancing education through high-quality scholarship, inclusive and interdisciplinary dialogue, and wider global visibility for research informing policy and practice.
The organizations have outlined that the partnership has expanded global reach and accessibility for educational research, provided platforms to address contemporary educational challenges, supported a diverse research community, and aimed to ensure that rigorous research remains accessible and impactful across global educational contexts.
