University of Granada and Cervantes Institute establish collaboration to strengthen scientific publishing in Spanish -

The University of Granada and the Cervantes Institute have signed an agreement to expand the visibility of scientific and technological research produced in Spanish. The agreement outlines coordinated actions to promote the use of Spanish as a language for academic and scientific communication at national and international levels. It includes plans to jointly organize activities aimed at increasing recognition of scientific work conducted in Spanish and to support Spanish-language scientific publications through journal catalogues and open access platforms.

Both institutions will also cooperate to advance university programs delivered in Spanish, covering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, as well as courses on Spanish language and culture for international learners. Additional areas of collaboration include the creation of text corpora for AI research, the production and dissemination of scientific content through digital platforms and academic networks, and the organization of outreach events for a wide range of audiences.

The agreement provides for efforts to enhance the visibility of relevant resources, works, and activities related to scientific publishing in Spanish. It also establishes a framework for cross-promotion of initiatives through the digital channels of both institutions to support broad dissemination within their respective communities. The collaboration is renewable every four years.
