Genisys AI launches AI Polis platform for science-based city planning -

Genisys AI has announced the launch of AI Polis, an AI-powered platform designed to support urban planning aligned with planetary boundaries. The announcement was made during a session at the Frontiers Science House on the Davos Promenade alongside the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026.

AI Polis is designed for city leaders, policymakers, investors, innovators, and urban planners and supports coordinated, science-based approaches to urban development that can be funded and implemented. The platform connects technology, policy, finance, and environmental science to support community development while addressing environmental considerations.

AI Polis has emerged from the Civic AI domain of the Genisys AI Venture Studio, which focuses on using AI to support transparent, citizen-focused governance. Cities across Europe and beyond are adopting AI for traffic, energy, water, housing, and public services, often in unconnected ways. This can result in fragmented systems, vendor dependence, and reduced local control, while missing opportunities to protect the environment.

AI Polis functions as a city-level coordination system that integrates data, AI models, and governance frameworks. The platform supports the design, prioritization, and scaling of projects that improve urban life while remaining within planetary boundaries.

AI Polis focuses on three areas faced by cities where AI can be applied:

• Healthy cities that reduce environmental impact while improving public health and quality of life

• Well-governed cities that improve government efficiency and free resources for sustainable initiatives

• Thriving local economies that support resilient, independent, and innovation-friendly communities

The announcement was made during the session Reinventing 21st-century cities with science, held on 21 January 2026 at 10:15 CET. The session examined how science, innovation, and governance can inform urban development, drawing on planetary boundary science and research.

From 19–23 January 2026, Science House at Davos is hosting discussions focused on science, health, climate, technology, and governance. The program includes curated dialogues, impact sessions, and Frontiers Labs designed to connect researchers, policymakers, investors, and philanthropists. Science House is organized by Frontiers and hosted on the Davos Promenade.
