ChemRxiv selects Wiley’s Research Exchange Preprints to streamline chemistry preprint platform -

Wiley has launched Research Exchange Preprints, a platform designed to support the discovery and posting of early-stage research. ChemRxiv, a chemistry preprint server co-owned by the American Chemical Society, the Royal Society of Chemistry, the German Chemical Society, the Chinese Chemical Society, and the Chemical Society of Japan, has selected Research Exchange Preprints as its platform provider.

ChemRxiv hosts tens of thousands of chemistry preprints and generates millions of downloads worldwide, serving the chemistry research community. Preprints allow researchers to share findings quickly and globally, define the scope and primary results of their work, and obtain feedback before formal peer review, enabling real-time knowledge exchange.

ChemRxiv operating on Research Exchange Preprints will offer features such as intelligent file uploading, AI-driven metadata extraction, and a streamlined submission process. The platform includes a versioning system that enables collaborative work management with dedicated Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) assigned to each version.

The collaboration between ChemRxiv and Research Exchange Preprints is designed to reduce friction for authors and support rapid knowledge exchange within the research community. Also, the launch expands Wiley’s Research Exchange ecosystem, which currently supports more than 1,500 scholarly journals. The platform connects preprint posting with article submission through the Under Review service, allowing authors to share research early while tracking the peer review process transparently.

The platform was selected because of Wiley’s focus on improving the experience for preprint authors and readers. Its capabilities and planned support for full-text rendering of preprints align with ChemRxiv’s objective of improving processes while serving the chemistry research community.

Research Exchange Preprints provides customizable branding, dedicated custom domains, and editorial dashboards that deliver real-time insights into submissions and content performance. The platform is built on the Atypon Experience Platform, which supports scalability and reliability and allows rapid deployment of new features based on community feedback.
