ResearchGate and The Company of Biologists form Journal Home partnership -

ResearchGate and The Company of Biologists, a not‑for‑profit publisher supporting the biological sciences community, have announced a new Journal Home partnership covering the publisher’s full portfolio of peer‑reviewed biology journals. The partnership also launches with the Open Access Agreement Upgrade (OAAU).

Open access is a central focus of the collaboration. By integrating the complete portfolio into Journal Home, the visibility and accessibility of The Company of Biologists’ journals will be expanded. The OAAU will further enable continuous engagement with researchers eligible to publish open access through institutional agreements, increasing awareness of funding pathways and supporting broader uptake.

The OAAU provides several features:

• Targeted audience intelligence to identify relevant researchers at eligible institutions.

• Direct communication with eligible researchers about funding support opportunities.

• Continuous visibility through Read‑and‑Publish messaging across ResearchGate interactions.

• Reporting and analytics to measure the effectiveness of agreement messaging throughout the publishing process.

Shelly Turner, Sales and Marketing Director at The Company of Biologists, stated that the partnership offers a new way to connect journals with researchers worldwide, strengthening visibility and impact. She emphasized that surfacing Read‑and‑Publish agreements at the right time helps make open publishing more accessible.

Robyn Mugridge, Head of Partnership Development at ResearchGate, noted that the collaboration ensures institutional agreements are clearly identified at critical points in the publishing journey, supporting direct pathways for authors to publish openly.
