The Institute of Physics (IOP) has entered into a new strategic partnership with the Physical Society of Hong Kong (PSHK). The agreement was signed during a visit to China by IOP Chief Executive Tom Grinyer, who attended an event in Hong Kong focused on advancing scientific collaboration. Representatives from the City University of Hong Kong, the British Consulate‑General, and PSHK also participated.
At the event, Tom Grinyer and PSHK President Professor Wei Bao signed a Memorandum of Understanding that outlines joint activities, including a bilateral academic lecture program and collaboration on key issues in physics. The lecture series was launched with keynote presentations by Professor Mauro Paternostro, Editor‑in‑Chief of Quantum Science and Technology, and David Gevaux, Chief Editor at IOP Publishing.
The visit further strengthened connections between IOP, IOP Publishing, and the scientific community in China. It also marked the launch of AI Horizons, a new journal published in partnership with the Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology. The launch event took place at the Eastern Institute of Technology in Ningbo, where President Professor Shiyi Chen will serve as Editor‑in‑Chief of the journal.
