Wolters Kluwer has announced an expanded enterprise AI collaboration with OpenAI, aimed at developing AI‑native solutions for professionals and institutions operating in regulated, high‑stakes environments. The initiative builds on Wolters Kluwer’s existing Expert AI capabilities and OpenAI’s enterprise technologies to deliver trusted, domain-grounded AI support.
The partnership includes a pipeline of features designed to integrate generative and agentic AI into professional environments. Wolters Kluwer will deploy OpenAI technologies through its secure, model‑agnostic GenAI enablement platform, known as FAB, while maintaining compliance with enterprise infrastructure and customer governance requirements.
Wolters Kluwer has introduced UpToDate® Expert AI, an evolution of its evidence‑based clinical information solution. Supported by a multi‑layer expert‑in‑the‑loop framework and governance, the system leverages OpenAI’s latest models to improve responsiveness, cost efficiency, and clinical relevance. As of April 30, more than half of U.S. Enterprise Edition customers—representing about 2,000 hospitals—had adopted the Expert AI version of UpToDate, with adoption projected to reach 70% by mid‑year.
Expert AI capabilities embedded in CCH Axcess™ streamline workflows by automating tasks such as gathering client data, classifying documents, and preparing filings. These agentic solutions have reduced manual tasks by 20 to 30 percent, allowing professionals to focus on higher‑value advisory work during compressed filing deadlines.
Across its businesses, Wolters Kluwer continues to apply a model‑agnostic Expert AI strategy, embedding AI into platforms that support research, document review, drafting, workflow automation, and advisory insights. These solutions are designed to integrate with established systems of record while adhering to strict security and compliance standards.
