JMIR Publications noted that the results reflect the contributions of researchers, editors, and staff. The organization emphasized that while impact factors measure citation frequency, they are supported by the rigor and integrity of the open access work published.

JMIR Publications reaffirmed its commitment to responsible research assessment. As a signatory of the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA), the publisher stated that journal-level metrics should not be used as proxies for the quality of individual articles or researchers. Citation-based indicators such as JIF or CiteScore were described as contextual reference points rather than definitive measures of value.
