Taylor & Francis eBooks accessible via Palace App at NYU and Columbia -

Students and faculty at New York University (NYU) and Columbia University now have mobile access to thousands of Taylor & Francis eBooks through the Palace Project app. The initiative makes titles from Routledge and CRC Press available on smartphones and tablets, offering secure and streamlined access to academic resources.

The collaboration between Taylor & Francis and The Palace Project enables university libraries to integrate licensed eBook collections into a single mobile platform. NYU and Columbia are the first institutions to provide Taylor & Francis titles through Palace, which is hosted by Lyrasis and designed to consolidate digital content into one catalog accessible via Android and iOS devices.

Library representatives noted that the partnership expands access to large collections of academic eBooks while supporting interoperable standards for secure delivery. At NYU, the integration adds more than 200,000 eBooks to the mobile platform, while Columbia reported the inclusion of over 150,000 titles. Both institutions emphasized that the initiative improves the reading experience and aligns with efforts to adopt open, standards‑based systems.

Lyrasis representatives highlighted the collaboration as an example of investment in interoperable infrastructure, noting that the use of the Open Publication Distribution System (OPDS) standards supports broader adoption across academic libraries. Taylor & Francis representatives indicated that early feedback from users has been positive, with the service helping to make scholarly content more accessible and discoverable.

The Palace Project continues to expand its role in academic and public libraries by integrating diverse digital resources into a unified mobile reading environment.
