ResearchGate and the American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS) have announced a new Journal Home partnership that will cover ASHS’s full portfolio of peer-reviewed journals. The collaboration is intended to broaden the international reach of ASHS publications and strengthen connections with authors and readers worldwide.
Founded in 1903, ASHS promotes research and education in horticulture across multiple disciplines. The society has more than 2,400 members in 60 countries, including researchers, educators, students, and industry professionals who focus on developing practical solutions through horticultural science.
The partnership includes ASHS’s open access journals HortScience, HortTechnology, and the Journal of the American Society for Horticultural Science. Through Journal Home, these publications will gain:
• Increased readership by delivering content directly to relevant horticultural and plant science researchers within ResearchGate’s global community.
• Expanded author submissions by connecting journal content with established and emerging researchers.
• Dedicated journal profiles to build long-term visibility and recognition.
• Author services such as automatic uploads of published articles to author profiles and metrics to track readership, sharing, and citations.
Tracy Shawn, Chief Executive Officer of ASHS, explained that the partnership would help ensure research published in ASHS journals reaches global audiences who can build upon it and apply it. She emphasized that supporting authors and advancing horticultural science remain central to the society’s mission, and Journal Home provides new opportunities to strengthen both.
Robyn Mugridge, Head of Partnership Development at ResearchGate, stated that Journal Home offers tools to increase engagement, usage, authorship, and recognition for ASHS journals internationally. She noted that by connecting these journals with relevant research communities, the partnership will extend the reach of ASHS’s work and support its impact across horticultural science, education, and practice.
