Elsevier expands ClinicalKey Student with StudyFinder AI for evidence-based learning -

Elsevier has introduced StudyFinder AI to its ClinicalKey Student platform, aiming to provide medical students with faster access to trusted, evidence-based resources. The move follows the earlier launch of Osmosis AI and reflects growing demand for reliable artificial intelligence in healthcare education.

According to Elsevier, a majority of medical students already use AI tools to support their studies, but many of these tools deliver unverified information that lacks accuracy and transparency. StudyFinder AI is designed to address these concerns by connecting students to curriculum-aligned resources, including textbooks, videos, and 3D models. The tool will initially be available in the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand, while Osmosis AI remains accessible globally.

Brent Gordon, President of Elsevier Healthcare Education, stated that most AI tools currently available to students do not provide answers supported by verifiable sources. He emphasized that ClinicalKey Student differs by ensuring every StudyFinder AI response is drawn from recommended medical school content, including Elsevier’s evidence-based materials, making it instantly verifiable. He noted that this reliability is critical for students learning to make clinical decisions.

StudyFinder AI offers several features to support medical education:

• AI-driven search that connects students to trusted, curriculum-based resources.

• Embedded citations to ensure source verification.

• Visualization tools including 2D and 3D models for enhanced learning.

• Access to a curated library of evidence-based textbooks, more than 6,000 multiple-choice questions, and over 1,000 short videos.

The announcement builds on the launch of Osmosis AI earlier this year. Osmosis AI integrates award-winning videos, authoritative Elsevier medical content, and responsible AI to provide timely support for students and educators. It connects answers directly to Osmosis videos and includes clear citations for verification, prioritizing clinically relevant explanations aligned with medical curricula and board exams.

Elsevier Healthcare Education also plans to introduce an AI-powered Assessment Creator later this year in select markets. This tool is intended to help faculty design curriculum-aligned, evidence-based assessments more efficiently, saving time in the process.
