Springer Nature and OpenEvidence have entered into a subscription agreement that will make peer‑reviewed content from Springer Nature available on the OpenEvidence platform. The arrangement, effective August 5, is part of Springer Nature’s community‑led ARC3 framework. Physicians will be able to retrieve and cite this content during patient care.
The agreement is intended to provide clinicians and healthcare professionals with timely access to trusted scientific and medical insights to support decision making at the point of care.
Frank Vranken Peeters, Chief Executive Officer of Springer Nature, stated that both organizations share the goal of maximizing exposure for scientific research while ensuring authors receive clear attribution and that their work remains connected to its original source. He noted that partnering with OpenEvidence, a service delivering clinical findings at the point of care, would help clinicians access reliable research and support better‑informed decisions with greater real‑world impact.
Daniel Nadler, Chief Executive Officer of OpenEvidence, emphasized that Springer Nature publishes many influential medical journals, books, and society publications. He explained that integrating Springer Nature’s portfolio into OpenEvidence would broaden the range of questions physicians can address with sourced answers across all major areas of medicine, while also connecting authors of practice‑changing research with the clinicians who use it.
The ARC3 licensing framework ensures clear attribution and links back to original research, transparency in how content is used, and alignment with Springer Nature’s Responsible AI Principles. Researchers are expected to benefit from wider use of their work and confidence in how it is accessed.
