Healthcare organizations ranging from academic medical centers to community hospitals are implementing UpToDate Expert AI. Among them are Sharp HealthCare in San Diego, Duke University Health System in Durham, University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City, and Intermountain Health, which operates 34 sites in the northwest.

According to Wolters Kluwer, health system leaders have indicated that they seek clinical AI solutions with clear governance structures and seamless workflow integration. They emphasized the importance of validation models that extend beyond knowledge tests, ensuring outputs are clinically useful, grounded in trusted information, and reliable in complex care settings.

The newly integrated drug dosing capability provides clinicians with evidence‑based recommendations, supporting rationale, and transparent assumptions within their workflow. The guidance was developed through expert review and structured testing against real‑world medication questions. The system is designed to support consistent, safe decision‑making by aligning with organizational quality and governance priorities.

UpToDate Enterprise Edition is intended to serve both individual clinicians and healthcare systems.
