Journal of Neurorestoratology transitions to SciOpen publishing platform -

The Journal of Neurorestoratology (JNR) has announced its official transition to SciOpen, the independent digital publishing platform developed by Tsinghua University Press. The move marks a new stage in the journal’s development and reflects a shift toward a more autonomous and globally connected publishing model.

As of September 1, 2026, all new manuscripts must be submitted through the ScholarOne system at https://mc03.manuscriptcentral.com/jnrt. The former Elsevier EM system was retired on August 31, 2026, and is no longer accessible for submissions. The publishing partnership with Elsevier will formally conclude on December 31, 2026. Beginning in 2027, JNR will be fully published and managed on SciOpen by Tsinghua University Press.

SciOpen, launched in 2022, provides open access to more than 200 journals across multiple academic disciplines. It reaches users in over 230 countries and regions and generates more than 15 million page views per month. The transition is expected to create a more efficient and globally connected publishing environment for authors, reviewers, and readers.

Authors are instructed to use the new ScholarOne link for all submissions. Manuscripts submitted before August 31, 2026, that are under review or revision will continue to be processed in the former system until a final decision is reached. For manuscripts under initial review or requiring resubmission after August 31, authors should contact the editorial office for guidance.

The journal expressed appreciation for its partnership with Elsevier and acknowledged the support received over the years. It noted that the transition to SciOpen represents a new era in its publishing journey.
