ARPHA and EASE expand partnership to support journal editors -

Pensoft Publishers has expanded the collaboration between the ARPHA Platform and the European Association of Science Editors (EASE), providing new benefits for editors of journals published on the ARPHA Platform.

The partnership began in 2020 when ARPHA assumed hosting and publishing responsibilities for European Science Editing (ESE), the official journal of EASE. As part of the transition, the journal adopted a diamond open-access model, allowing free access for both authors and readers. The change also supported the journal’s development into a peer-reviewed scholarly publication.

Since then, European Science Editing has been indexed in Scopus and Web of Science and has received its first Impact Factor of 1.6. The journal is currently ranked in the second quartile of the Library and Information Science category.

Building on this collaboration, ARPHA and EASE have expanded the agreement to benefit the broader ARPHA journal community. Under the arrangement, each journal hosted on ARPHA may nominate one representative, typically an editor-in-chief or designated editor, to participate in the program.

The benefits include:

• An EASE membership subscription providing access to association resources, webinars, newsletters, discounted event registration, and networking opportunities with publishing and editing professionals.

• One complimentary place in the EASE Editorial School for Journal Editors, a training program covering editorial management and peer-review processes.

In addition, ARPHA and EASE plan to organize joint activities that will be open to the wider scholarly publishing community. Pensoft also intends to participate in the 19th EASE Conference, scheduled to be held in Brighton, United Kingdom, in June 2027.
