McGraw Hill has announced a collaboration with the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine to integrate its medical education content into UCSF’s enterprise generative AI platform, Curate.
The initiative will provide medical students, residents, and clinicians with access to trusted educational resources through AI-supported learning experiences. Using a Model Context Protocol (MCP) connection, Curate can access selected McGraw Hill medical content, including Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine, enabling the platform to deliver responses based on established educational materials.
Curate was developed by UCSF to support medical education through AI-driven assistance. Through the MCP integration, AI agents can retrieve relevant information from McGraw Hill’s content repository, allowing learners to access reference materials within their educational workflows.
The initial pilot program will focus on learners participating in internal medicine, family medicine, and pediatrics clinical rotations. The collaboration is also expected to examine how students interact with AI-supported learning tools and whether these technologies can enhance learning outcomes and support instructors.
Students are expected to gain access to the integrated platform beginning this fall. McGraw Hill and UCSF also plan to study learner engagement with the AI-enabled system and assess its impact on educational outcomes.
The collaboration aligns with McGraw Hill’s broader efforts to support the responsible use of AI in education through a range of AI-enabled learning tools and services.
