ProQuest has announced that 26,000 ebook titles on Elsevier's ScienceDirect platform are now available through OASIS®, ProQuest's free web-based system for searching, selecting and ordering print and electronic books - giving its customers an additional way to acquire this sought-after content.
ScienceDirect is Elsevier's leading platform of peer-reviewed scholarly literature. It joins a growing list of publisher and partner ebook platforms also available through OASIS - aggregator platforms like ProQuest Ebook Central, R2 Digital Library and EBSCO, and publisher platforms such as Cambridge Core, University Press Scholarship Online (Oxford), Wiley Online Library, Info-Sci (IGI Global), Taylor & Francis Ebooks, and World Scientific, De Gruyter and Karger. With the addition of publisher platforms, OASIS helps libraries simplify their acquisition workflows and offers them more choices for acquiring books.
Through the OASIS system, users enjoy access to one of the broadest curated print and ebook title databases in the industry. Their workflows are simplified through powerful collection management tools working with many acquisition models including demand-driven acquisition (DDA) and access-to-own (ATO) - and tight integrations with library management systems such as the Alma system from Ex Libris.
