SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, has announced a multiyear agreement establishing ACCUCOMS as its new representative for the SPIE Digital Library in India and Eastern Europe. The agreement is effective January 1, 2016.
More than 430,000 research papers and 230 ebooks from the SPIE Press are published in the SPIE Digital Library, making it the world's largest collection of optics and photonics research. Approximately 18,000 new articles and 25 ebooks are added each year.
In India, ACCUCOMS Commercial Director Asia Pacific Rakesh Malik will oversee contacts for SPIE. ACCUCOMS Commercial Manager Europe Raluca Pop will be the Eastern European representative.
Technical articles in the SPIE Digital Library include conference proceedings from 1962 through its most recent events, and articles from the society publisher's 10 peer-reviewed scholarly journals.
Since its inception in 2003, the SPIE Digital Library has provided the research and development community with vetted content available online, enhanced with personalised services that include reference linking, e-mail alerts, individual article collection folders for researchers, download activity tracking, and co-branding for librarians.
Through the 'e-First' publishing program, individual articles from journal issues and proceedings volumes are published electronically in the SPIE Digital Library, ensuring that they are available for subscribers as rapidly as possible.
