ACM journals experience increased coverage by Thomas Reuters ISI Web of Science -

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) has announced that the January 2009 mid-year release of Journal Citation Reports (JCR) showed a significant increase in the coverage of ACM periodicals and publication of impact factors for 2009. In total, 29 ACM periodicals are now listed in JCR, an increase of 10 journals compared to 2008.

This is a noteworthy increase and is relevant as this report provides researchers, librarians, bibliometricians and scholars a better understanding to a journal's performance and influence around the world, the Association noted. The JCR is a determining factor for most researchers and scholars to have their research findings published and being listed in the JCR increases the likelihood of these scholars to publish their findings in these ACM's journals.

Journal Citation Reports (JCR) is published by the Healthcare & Science division of Thomas Reuters. It offers a systematic, objective means to critically evaluate the world's leading journals, with quantifiable, statistical information based on citation data. By compiling articles' cited references, JCR helps to measure research influence and impact at the journal and category levels, and shows the relationship between citing and cited journals.
