ACS and NOBCChE sign three-year agreement to support chemistry professionals -

The American Chemical Society (ACS) and the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional development in chemistry and related fields.

Under the agreement, the organizations will work to expand access to opportunities in chemistry, strengthen pathways for students and early-career professionals, and increase the visibility of contributions across the field. The collaboration will combine ACS’s leadership in chemistry with NOBCChE’s focus on community development, infrastructure, and long-term impact.

Potential areas of cooperation include professional development, programs and events, leadership development, science communication, student engagement, and policy-related activities.

The agreement establishes a three-year framework for strategic collaboration, including joint initiatives, coordinated engagement, and shared accountability. Specific activities and success measures will be determined through subsequent implementation plans and addenda.
