The American Institute of Physics (AIP) has signed a new partnership agreement with the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (CSTAM). Under the deal, AIP and CSTAM will co-publish the new journal Theoretical and Applied Mechanics Letters (TAML). The journal is slated for launch in January 2011.
TAML will publish short, original articles in all areas of theoretical and applied mechanics, as well as in engineering-related fields, such as aerospace, energy, materials, and biomedical, mechanical, coastal, civil and hydraulic engineering. Professor Jiachun Li, Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Prof. Yonggang Huang, Northwestern University - two of the most influential scientists in international mechanics - will serve as Co-Editors.
The Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics is a non-governmental organisation affiliated to the China Association of Science and Technology. The Society is made up of 42 member institutions with a total of more than 20,000 members.
