Publishing services provider Allen Press, Inc., US, and Odyssey Press, Inc. have announced that they are integrating operations of the two organisations. The initiative seeks to provide competitive end-to-end publishing services to scholarly journal publishers looking for a single source for content management, digital and offset print, online publishing, association management, and publishing services.
With this integration, both companies hope to maximize their operational efficiency and publishing capability. Odyssey Press will provide digital short-run book and journal production for Allen Press accounts as well as article reprints and author billing services via the EzReprint and EzBilling online e-commerce order management and billing systems. Allen Press in turn will provide offset print production for Odyssey Press customers that require longer print runs.
Additionally, Odyssey Press customers will be able to take advantage of the composition, peer review, online publishing, association management, editorial, and publishing services offered at the Lawrence, KS, facility. Although the companies will remain separate entities, Allen Press has made a capital investment in Odyssey Press that will further increase the continued investment in emerging technologies.
