American Chemical Society and American Society for Mass Spectrometry announce publishing partnership -

The Publications Division of the American Chemical Society (ACS Publications) and the American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS) have announced a new partnership arrangement to publish the Journal of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry (JASMS), a long-established and leading publication in the field of measurement science.

The global reach of ACS Publications will provide enhanced exposure for the journal, a title that has pre-eminently served the international mass spectrometry community since its inception in 1990. The journal is currently publishing volume 30, and with an Impact Factor of 2.869, is positioned among the highest quality titles for mass spectrometry research.

Under the partnership, JASMS authors and readers will benefit from ACS Publications’ state-of-the-art digital publishing capabilities. As an ACS Publications partner journal, JASMS retains full editorial independence under the governance and oversight of ASMS. ACS Publications will provide its full range of industry-leading publishing and operational expertise, well known to researchers worldwide. The journal will also benefit from ACS’ range of flexible open access publishing options.

JASMS publishes research spanning all aspects of mass spectrometry, including basic and applied areas of scientific inquiry in which mass spectrometry plays a role. The journal’s distinguished editorial team is led by Dr. Joseph A. Loo, of the University California, Los Angeles, supported by an exceptional group of associate editors and editorial advisory board members whose range of expertise reflects the breadth of this vibrant field.

Submissions to JASMS will switch to ACS Paragon Plus this fall, with the first issue published under this new partnership appearing online in January 2020. Institutional customers and ASMS member subscribers will receive digital access to JASMS via ACS Publications’ newly redesigned online platform. JASMS legacy archival content will also be made available to authorised users via the ACS platform.
