American Chemical Society and IEEE sign MOU to strengthen STEM collaboration -

The American Chemical Society (ACS) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to support collaboration and knowledge sharing related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The agreement is intended to advance STEM disciplines through joint engagement that benefits the global community.

Under the memorandum of understanding (MOU), the two organizations will explore opportunities for cooperative initiatives. These include potential co-hosted events, exchanges of experts, coordinated communications activities, and the development of products and services intended to support innovation across chemistry, engineering, and related disciplines. The statement indicated that joint work between the two organizations could expand opportunities for sharing knowledge and increase the reach of their activities.

The agreement will remain in effect for three years. During that period, it created a framework allowing ACS and IEEE to pursue joint projects and activities while drawing on each other’s expertise and maintaining organizational independence and integrity. The memorandum of understanding was described as establishing a structure for cooperation intended to support members of both organizations and the broader STEM community.
