American Journal of Public Health announces increased impact factor for 2009 -

The American Journal of Public Health (AJPH), published by the American Public Health Association, has reported an increased impact factor for 2009. The 2009 impact factor for AJPH is 4.371 up from 4.241 in 2008.

The journal ranks #2 out of 95 titles in the Public, Environmental and Occupational Health category of the 2009 Thomson Reuters Social Sciences Citation Index compared to last year's #3 of 76 titles. It ranks #9 of 122 titles compared to last year's #10 of 105 in the same category in the Science Edition. The journal is also listed as one of the 100 most influential journals in biology and medicine over the last 100 years by the Special Libraries Association.

AJPH is the official Journal of the American Public Health Association. The journal publishes original work in research, research methods, and programme evaluation in the field of public health, and serves as a forum for health policy analysis.
