American Physiological Society and HighWire Press renew partnership -

Non- profit publisher the American Physiological Society (APS) has announced that it has renewed its partnership with HighWire Press, a not-for-profit division of Stanford University Libraries.

The APS is a non-profit organisation publishing 13 widely acclaimed scholarly journals covering all aspects of physiology. As a pro-active voice in the biomedical scientist community, APS is a member of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB), a founding member of the DC Principles for Free Access to Science, and embraces social media in many formats.

By continuing as a strategic partner with HighWire, APS has the flexibility both now and in the future to direct the evolution of their site, their products, and their offerings.

The HighWire Open Platform encourages publishers to think outside the journal. As electronic publishing matures, grows and changes, HighWire continues to rise to its path finding role in working closely with the community to devise new and novel ways to disseminate and enrich content, enhance discoverability, and offer co-development opportunities.
