Registration is now open for the first offering of Society of American Archivists (SAA) Digital Archives Specialist (DAS) courses targeted for staff in ARL member institutions. ARL is working with SAA to deliver four DAS courses back-to-back in a single week, travelling across 11 different ARL host libraries over the next 18 months.
The first site to host the courses will be the W.E.B. Du Bois Library at the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Amherst. The courses at this site are open to all librarians and archivists in the region.
The courses that will be offered at UMass Amherst include Digital Curation: Creating an Environment for Success on July 15; Digital Archives and Libraries on July 16; Preserving Digital Archives: Concepts and Competencies on July 17; and Digital Forensics on July 18–19.
