ASCE opts for Atypon platform for ASCE Library -

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has selected Atypon's Literatum publishing platform to power the next generation of the ASCE Library. The new platform will launch third quarter 2012.

The new ASCE Library will make use of Atypon's latest innovations in publishing technology to become a single destination for all ASCE technical content. The new platform will be augmented by powerful discovery tools including taxonomic browsing and data visualisations, placing ASCE firmly at the center of civil engineering knowledge.

The ASCE Library (ascelibrary.org) claims to be an extensive resource for civil engineering research and application-oriented content, with more than 86,000 technical and professional articles from 33 ASCE Journals (1983 to the present), and more than 300 Conference Proceedings. ASCE publishes about 7,000 new articles in the ASCE Library each year.

Founded in 1852, the American Society of Civil Engineers represents more than 140,000 civil engineers worldwide and claims to be America's oldest national engineering society.
