ASCO adds mobile licensing capability for two of its journals iPad and iPhone app -

Non-profit copyright licensing solutions provider Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC), US, has announced that the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) recently integrated CCC's latest software development kit (SDK) to its Journal of Clinical Oncology and Journal of Oncology Practice iPad and iPhone app, to conduct mobile licensing transactions.

The free SDK, available for download on copyright.com/rightslinkmobile, provides a development library, documentation and a sample project that enables licensing integration in a matter of minutes for all RightsLink Plus and Premium publishers deploying iPhone and iPad apps.

When a reader of an article on the iPad or iPhone app version clicks on the share button, among the short list of options is 'Get Permissions.' Clicking that link opens a CCC branded window tied to its RightsLink service enabling a full range of options to secure copyright permission to the content. RightsLink is a licensing solution that enables rightsholders' to offer re-use and permissions for their digital content to users at the point-of-content wherever the content resides.

The first installation of CCC's mobile licensing toolkit added a 'get permissions' option within the iPad/iPhone app for CHEST, a peer-reviewed journal of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP).
