BioOne partners with GOBI to broaden ebook access for libraries -

BioOne has announced a partnership with GOBI Library Solutions to expand access to its scientific ebook collections through GOBI’s acquisition platform. This collaboration enables libraries worldwide to streamline procurement of BioOne’s content in biological, ecological, and environmental sciences.

The agreement integrates BioOne’s ebook collections—including over 360 eBooks—into GOBI’s acquisition system. These include the ESA eBook Collection, comprising 165 titles from the Entomological Society of America, and the CSIRO Publishing BioSelect Collection, which offers 219 ebooks from Australia’s CSIRO Publishing. These resources are delivered via the BioOne Digital Library platform alongside BioOne Complete.

According to BioOne, this integration supports easier access for institutions and aligns with its mission to make bioscience research more widely available. Christine Orr, Senior Director of Business and Community Development at BioOne, noted that the collaboration helps libraries acquire critical resources for scientific discovery. Jon Elwell, Senior Vice President at EBSCO, which owns GOBI, highlighted the benefit for libraries in gaining more procurement options.

The partnership supports academic institutions in building comprehensive digital collections and reflects shared goals to support research across scientific disciplines. Libraries can access BioOne’s ebook content by contacting their GOBI representatives or visiting the GOBI Library Solutions platform.
