Medical knowledge provider BMJ has announced a partnership with NHS Scotland to provide BMJ Best Practice to NHS staff across the country.
BMJ Best Practice is an online decision support tool that gives healthcare professionals fast and easy access to the latest information when making diagnosis and treatment decisions. Structured around the patient consultation, it presents the required information just as it is needed, drawing on the latest evidence-based research, guidelines and expert opinion to offer step-by-step guidance on diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and prevention.
The agreement, which started in July, covers all NHS organisations across Scotland. Access will be available to staff online within their workplace or remotely. In addition the BMJ Best Practice app will provide crucial offline access for community-based professionals and those in remote locations.
This announcement follows a similar partnership with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board where BMJ Best Practice is available to 10,000 healthcare professionals to support patient care across north Wales.
