Medical information publisher BMJ Group, UK, has announced that it is partnering with a US based society to publish the Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association (JAMIA), starting January 2010. BMJ will publish the journal on behalf of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA), through its Affinity programme.
Affinity provides a complete publishing service for professional medical groups and learned societies, ranging from business development, through editorial support, to sales and marketing.
A bimonthly, JAMIA is now in its sixteenth year of publication. The journal is consistently cited as among the top journals in the biomedical informatics field. Formerly published by Elsevier, JAMIA has a reputation for publishing high quality, cutting edge information in the field of biomedical informatics. Dr Randolph Miller, Professor of Biomedical Informatics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, will serve as the editor of the journal.
